NEIRIKA
BÉRANGÈRE MAÏA NATASHA PARIZEAU
Huichol soul-concept neirika, or nierika, signifies the passage way or barrier between this reality and non-ordinary reality. The Huichol call themselves Wixáritari, indigenous from Mexico, they use peyote as spiritual sacrament.
Art is connected to life and to breath. The word inspiration communicates drawing air into the lungs and is related to the primal breath. From the ancient Greek πνεῦμα (pneuma), the word soul, signifies breath, wind, spirit. Inspiration is a process through which the mystery of life is creatively expressed.
